Thomas “Witt” Pierce, 83, passed away on February 15, 2010 in Gainesville, FL.
He was born in White Springs, FL February 25, 1926. He lived most of his life in Ft Lauderdale, FL. He retired to Ocala in 1992 then to Gainesville in 2008. He worked as a produce manager for Pantry Pride Supermarkets. He most enjoyed fishing, repairing things, & watching baseball.
Witt was preceded in death by his beloved wife Simone M. Pierce who passed away November 12, 2009. He is survived by his daughter Cindy Andrade and her husband Jim Cunningham, 2 grandsons Scott and Peter Andrade, 2 brothers Marion and Edward Pierce, and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 21, from 1:00 PM to 2:00PM with a funeral service by Reverend Carl Romey at 2:00 PM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23 Avenue, Gainesville. Interment with military honors will be on Monday, February 22, 2010 Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at 10:30 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity for the Haitian earth quake relief.
